About The College:
Anniesland College was opened in 1964 to serve the community in the west of Glasgow.

The college is undergoing an extensive building programme, due to be completed in 2010, encompassing three campuses: Hatfield Drive, Balshagray and Netherton. From August 2010 all full time courses will take place at the new Hatfield Drive building.

The college has strong community links as well as strong links with industry in the area.

It runs nearly 180 courses, over 60 full time. There are 7 departments
  • The Business School

  • Communication, English and Highers

  • Computing
  • Design and Construction

  • Engineering

  • Hospitality, Sport and Creative Arts

  • Social and Community Studies.
Courses lead to qualifications including Highers, National Certificates, National Progression Awards, Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas.

The college specialises in English for Speakers of Other Languages. Its 8,000 students come from over 70 countries.

Support for learning
Course tutors advise on academic matters. Learner Development staff help with study skills – essay writing, spelling, number work and more. They can also provide resources to help students who have additional support needs.
The Multimedia Education, Training and Resource Centres (METROs) have software to help students in all areas of study.

Child care
The Treasure Trove Nursery takes children from birth to 5 years.

Adult entrants
If you are an adult and have appropriate experience, you may be accepted without the normal entry requirements.

Part time study
There are part time courses in college and outreach centres in Milton and Ruchill.

Community courses
The college provides over 100 community based adult learning programmes in venues across Glasgow and Dunbartonshire.
