About The College:
Cardonald College is an enterprising and innovative college, serving the community in South West Glasgow, enabling students to develop their skills and confidence and make new friends.
The college has 2 sites, in Mosspark and Priesthill, the Greater Pollok Community Learning Centre (GPCLC). The main campus has recently undergone an extensive rebuild which includes a new Skills Centre, a Children’s Centre and a refurbished tower block.
Courses lead to qualifications such as National Certificates, Scottish Vocational Qualifications, Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Professional Development Awards (PDA) through 3 faculties- Arts, Humanities and Design
- Care, Sport and Continuing Learning
- Technology, Business and Industry.
Support for learning
All students can get help from Student Support staff for issues such as spelling, grammar, IT, number work, essay writing, confidence building and study skills.
There is extended learning support and practical help for students who have additional support needs because they have a visual or hearing impairment, dyslexia or dysgraphia, a medical condition, or a mental health, mobility or other issue which may affect their learning.
Child care
At the Children’s Centre the college can offer child care for pre-school children and an after school service for children up to 12 as well as play scheme provision during most holidays. A creche is available at the GPCLC for most classes, for children from birth onwards.
Adult entrants
Adult entrants are welcome and may be accepted without the normal entry requirements.
Access courses
There are Access courses leading to higher education in Health and Biological Sciences and Humanities.
Part time study
Part time courses are run in college (day and evening) and in the GPCLC, which aims to provide education and guidance in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
The flexible learning unit is open to the public and provides open and distance learning courses in a range of subjects.

Cardonald offers a range of Taster Programmes in Govan and Craigton. Contact the college for details.

Did you know?- a Cardonald College electrical apprenticeship student was successful in three prestigious competitions organised by the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECCT) in 2009
- the college’s annual summer school in July offers a wide range of courses, from aromatherapy to watercolours.
